BOOKING CONDITIONS

Sydänhovi applies the following terms and conditions to the booking of cottage holiday services as well as to the cancellation of booked services. These terms and conditions become binding to both parties once the client has paid the deposit mentioned in these contract terms to Sydänhovi or paid both the deposit and the final installment together.

TERMS OF BOOKING AND PAYMENT

The customer will be sent an invoice for payment via bank transfer or PayPal. Invoice will include the name and contact information of the owner. Any objections to the invoice must be made within 7 days of the invoice date. The number of the invoice must be mentioned in the payment.

At the same time with invoice arrival instructions and some other additional information, like how the key for cottage can be received, will delivered.

The booking is confirmed once the customer has paid the deposit (20% of the cottage rent) by the due date or once the customer has paid both the deposit and the final installment together.

If the client fails to pay or misses the payment deadline, the booking may be cancelled without further notification.

If the booking is made 3 months or more before the start of the rental period, the rent will be paid in two installments. The deposit must be paid within 14 days of the invoice date and the remaining amount 6 weeks before the holiday is due to start.

If the booking is made 2 – 3 months before the start of the rental period, the rent will be paid in two installments. The deposit must be paid within 7 days of the invoice date and the remaining amount 6 weeks before the holiday is due to start.

If the booking is made 1½ – 2 months before the start of the rental period, the sum must be paid in full 6 weeks before the holiday is due to start.

If the booking is made 6 weeks or less before the start of the rental period, the sum must be paid in full and within 7 days of the invoice date.

Renting of the cottage to third party is forbidden.

CANCELLATION OR CHANGE OF BOOKING

Any cancellations must be made to Sydänhovi in writing (by letter or e-mail). The date on which Sydänhovi receives the notification will be regarded as the date of cancellation.

Booking can be cancelled without any costs before the deposit and/or the final installment has been paid.

If a cancellation is made after the deposit and/or the final installment has been paid, the client will forfeit the payments that has been paid so far. If the cottage can be rented to another client from whom the equivalent sum is obtained, all sums will be refunded.

Regardless of the above, all sums with the exception of the deposit paid to Sydänhovi will be refunded if the client or a person from the same household falls seriously ill, has an accident or dies. In this case, Sydänhovi must be informed immediately of the cancellation, which must be properly verified by, for example, a doctor’s certificate.

RIGHT OF SYDÄNHOVI TO CANCEL A BOOKING

Sydänhovi may cancel a booking in the event of force majeure. In this case, the client is entitled to a full refund of the sum paid to Sydänhovi. If the customer fails to pay or misses the payment deadline, the booking may be cancelled without further notification. If a booking has to be interrupted because of disruptive behaviour on the part of the client, no payments will be refunded.

STAY AT COTTAGE

If the client fails to return the keys and their loss can be attributed to the client’s negligence, the actual cost of replacing the cottage’s locks less any deposit will be charged.

In the case of a one-week stay, a cottage will be at the client’s disposal from 16.00 (4 pm) on the day of arrival to 12.00 (12 noon) on the day of departure. In the case of a weekend stay, the cottage will be at the client’s disposal from 16.00 (4 pm) on the day of arrival to Sunday evening at 22.00 (10 pm). The checkout time is mentioned in the destination description.

The cottage rent covers the furnishings, cooking and eating utensils, and electricity for heating, cooking and lighting and wood for fireplace. Mattresses, bed covers and pillows are included in the rent. Sheets and towels are not included in the rent.

For foreign customer, final cleaning as a paid service is mandatory. Fee for final cleaning is 115€ and it will be included into total price

The number of people using the cottage must not exceed the number of eight (8). Tents and caravans are not permitted on a holiday cottage plot without the owner’s permission. Pets and animals are not allowed in this cottage. Smoking is not allowed indoors.

COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGE AND FORCE MAJEURE

The client will be required to pay the owner direct for any damage caused to the cottage or its contents during occupancy.

Sydänhovi will not be liable for any damage or inconvenience incurred by the client in the event of an unpredictable and insurmountable obstacle (force majeure) or some other comparable reason, such as a natural phenomenon, power failure, etc., that was not caused by Sydänhovi and that Sydänhovi could not with all due reason foresee. Neither is Sydänhovi responsible for any damage or inconvenience caused by regular natural phenomena.

COMPLAINTS

Any objections and complaints regarding the holiday accommodation must be made immediately once the cause for them arises and addressed to the owner or serviceman of the cottage direct.

APPLICABLE LAW AND VENUE FOR THE RESOLUTION OF DISPUTES

The contracting parties will attempt to resolve any disputes out of court. Should they fail to reach agreement, any disputes will be settled by the Hyvinkää District Court. The contract is governed solely by Finnish law.

RIGHT TO CHANGE PRICES

Sydänhovi reserves the right to correct any errors in the price list before a rental agreement is made.
